THEESatisfaction - Enchantruss

Is it the fact that these ladies simply are being who they are instead of being see through why I gets down to their sound? Or is it just that they're dope! Dope they are indeed. Just a couple of months ago, I'd come to know of the Seattle, Wa duo known as THEESatisfaction. Comprised of Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White, the two caught my attention one night while listening to the Giles Peterson show. Can't recall the name of the song, but the hypnotic production and echoing harmonies froze me for just a min - long enough to allow their sound to penetrate my eardrums and add them to my list of artist to watch for. Their latest single to drop is "Enchantruss," another captivating experience in sound and lyrics that showcases the eccentric creativity these ladies posses. Dropping March, 27th on Sub Pop Records, their debut, awE naturalE is one you don't want to sleep on. 

Mr. J. Medeiros - Pale Blue Dot ft Giannina Ashe

Respect to The Find Magazine & Mr. J. Medeiros for putting this one out. What an amazing song! "Pale Blue Dot" produced by Stro perfectly blends the soulful harmonies of Giannina Ashe with a tinge of electronic and alternative sounds while still capturing the essence of boom bap hip hop. Lyrically, Mr. J. Medeiros delivers a compelling message, taking aim at the extremists, religious fanatics and the wretched industry ceos who hold positions of power and influence over the minds of the youth. Those who follow me, already know I'm a big fan of Tall Black Guy Productions, so it goes without question to post something new of his whenever he drops. This time around, TBG puts his signature bass heavy - uptempo ladened groove to work over the vibe of Philly native and current DC resident, Temika Moore. This is my first time ever hearing of Temika, and I'm thankful for the put on. Temika has the vocals of a strong jazz vocalist who's able to command your attention as she delivers each note of the song. Peep the remix below, then check the original here.

Reneedion keeps it moving dropping new music & visuals from her forthcoming project, The Bridge. "Have Mercy on Me" is so fitting for the times we are in. With so many out of work, panhandling has become very popular around my way. Still, one can dream and look forward to a brighter day despite their situation. Reneedion sings in somewhat of a haunting tone which melds gospel and the blues of years past into the song. Brilliant combination from such a young talent. This just in! Sportn’ Life Records recently signed a new act: Fly Moon Royalty. Consisting of Action Jackson and vocalist, Adraboo, the Seattle duo enters the game with a sound that contends with the likes of J Davey, Heavy and Gnarles Barkley. Fly Moon Royalty show appreciation for an assortment of music with their self-titled 10-track LP. It's a modern day soulful, upbeat album with a unique combination of electro, hip hop, alternative vibes and a bit of the post punk era thrown in for good measure. I didn't expect a drop this soon, but I'm not complaining either way. Back again is the incredible duo of Phonte & Nicolay better known as The Foreign Exchange with their 1st single from their upcoming 3rd album Authenticity dropping October 12th. Aiming to push their creative juices another step forward "Maybe She'll Dream of Me" begins with a cinematic opening then flows into quirky electronic laser bounces backed by a mellow baseline. From his beginnings with Goodie Mob, his solo projects and his work with Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley), Cee Lo Green represents a musical kaleidoscope. While fans await his forthcoming third studio album Lady Killer, we can enjoy this eclectic 13 track mixtape presented by Greg Street. Czelena - A Way Home

The first time I heard Czelena bless a track was back in 2008, when she featured on Tanya Morgan's - "Be You" off The Bridge EP. Her voice - a combination of soprano and sonorous singing styles grabbed my attention from the moment she laid down vocals for the hook. Yearning for more, I did my research to find her myspace and discovered more music there. Unfortunately, none of them are for sale nowhere on the web, but she did make one track available for free download. "A Way Home" is a feel good, free spirited vibe which finds Czelena finding herself and taking control of her life. She hasn't dropped anything since this release, so hopefully that means she's in the lab creating some beautiful music for us. She's still active though as can be seen via her twitter and facebook accounts, so if you dig her sound, give her a link.
