Georgia Ann Muldrow is one artist known for delivering a plethora of very different styles of music. Soul, jazz, hip-hop, electro, funk... you get the picture. She's super talented and blessed with the gifts of voice, songwriting, production, instrumentation and much more we have yet to see. The featured single, "More & More" ft. Bilal comes from her latest release, "Owed to Mama Rickie" which is now available everywhere. The song itself is straight up classic, and the message throughout the video is one of staying true to yourself & loving who you are. So many beautiful images of black and brown people rocking their naturals and just expressing their beauty and love of self and family. I sat watching with my five year old son and had him nodding his head and singing the hook after our second viewing. This album is next on my to get list. I suggest you do the same. Choreographers, Tannos & Choice laid the inspiration for ISHE + HEZEKIAH's latest video "Hold On"with their very own creative dance video over SBTRKT'S joint of the same name. What a clever way to give exposure to two uniquely expressive art forms which compliments each other perfectly.

"The Vale of Happiness" is my three-part series chronicling a young artist coming into his own in present-day Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Descended from a family of Afro-Dominican immigrants who moved to the neighborhood in the 1950's, our main character struggles to express the growing feelings of helplessness and rage spreading throughout his community in the face of rapid gentrification."

The incredibly gifted Georgia Anne Muldrow returns as Jyoti which is a Sanscrit word meaning “light.” The name was given to her by the late great Alice Coltrane, who was a friend of the family. Under this new alias, Georgia will perform all her future jazz projects. The first of these projects will be Ocotea - drawing from a sea of influences such as Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys, Swamini Truiyasangitanada’s Monastic Trio, Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Henry Threadgill, Sun-Ra, and Stevie Wonder... the project fuses experimental synthesizers and melodies that soar about with raw musicianship to bring forth the free jazz sound of the album. Ocotea will show Georgia in a whole new light and is sure to become a new-jazz classic. G.A.M is Eclectic & Eccentric

For the past two days, I've been jamming to the recent drop from former Stones Throw recording artist and L.A. native, Georgia Anne Muldrow. Early is absolutely amazing! What began during her teenage years (17-19), the project formerly referred to as Young G, has been given a proper release, and it's a worthy showcase of a uniquely gifted artist on the rise. Her full-length debut, Olesi: Fragments of an Earth, I'll admit, went over my head when I heard it for the first time in 2007 (released in 2006), but it didn't shut her out of my ears. Since then, she's been putting in overtime, working with good friend Dudley Perkins, Erykah Badu, Jimmeta Rose and a host of other talented artists shaping the underground music scene.

G.A.M is credited from production to songwriting with SA-RA, J*Davey, PPP, and has so much product out on the market that it's nearly impossible to find something of hers you can't appreciate. She's easy for the eclectic & eccentric, but a little "weird" for the common ear. Either way, support good & innovative music! True artist deserve your hard earned dollars. Buy it here.
