Mr. J. Medeiros - Pale Blue Dot (Video)

Here's the video for Mr. J. Medeiros' exceptional song, "Pale Blue Dot.Definitely one of my favorite  tracks of 2012 thus far. I encourage you to spread the news about this song and video as this is a "word of mouth campaign." Positive content needs to be supported even more so than the barrage of b.s that remains to prevails via tv and radio.

K15 - Theme Music For A Pariah

Last week, K15 shot me the promo to his new Ep, "Theme Music For A Pariah." I would've had this up sooner, but I'd gotten thrown off with my children and several emails that had inundated my box since then. To be fair though, I gave it a good listen several times over the weekend and the project is a beat-head's thrill. From the mellow start of the title track it quickly takes off on some electronic/hip hop move ya body groove and keeps it going 'til the end. Loaded with some haunting and spacey sounds, intricate key workings and of course the drums for that knock, "Them Music For A Pariah" establishes K15's work as a producer to keep your eye on (if you're not already aware.) The digital format will release March 26th via the kind folks over at WotNot music. Until then, you can preview clips of the EP there.  Enjoy!

Reggie B - The Celeste (Video)

Look up the word "Celeste" and you'll come upon a number of persons names, food brands, musical instruments and films, but none that fits the description of the heavenly potion the enticing vixen uses to catch her prey in Reggie B's new video, The Celeste. As BBD once said, "Never trust a big butt and a smile." Unfortunately, some dudes still fall sucker to a cute face and a thick shape ultimately to end up in a world of trouble. But then you have the exceptions like Reggie B who recognizes game and flips the script in his favor. Gotta love the mischievous grin he puts on at the end. His album The Traveler is available here, here & here.

Tall Black Guy - Hollyweird 2.0

Fresh off his recently released Therapy Chop Sessions EP, my dude Tall Black Guy serves up another beat heavy project, Hollyweird 2. As I write this, I'm streaming the project and yo, it's just what I expected - Bangers! Although I've heard a couple of these joints already (2 lol!), TBG truthfully has yet to disappoint me. DL your copy of Hollyweird 2.0 and if you don't have Hollyweird, be sure to peep that as well. Check the featured gem below, then partake in the delightfulness known as Hollyweird.

Tall Black Guy - Therapy Chop Sessions EP

Now that Blogger's back up from whatever they were going through, let's get into some music. On the last episode of WSLE Soundscape Radio, super producer Tall Black Guy mentioned that he was working on some graphics for an EP he'd be putting out. Well, here it is! The Therapy Chop Sessions EP is a collection of 6 instrumentals combining hip hop, soul and jazz fusion style beats perfect for ridin' or just lounging. Inspired by The Beat Inn music collective, TBG is just revealing a sample of what's to come. For me, it was a toss up between the track below and "Enter (rain)" as my favorite, so peep "Blak & Mild" then head on over to his site, support his craft and establish your own favorite.

Reneedion - Have Mercy on Me (Video)

Reneedion keeps it moving dropping new music & visuals from her forthcoming project, The Bridge. "Have Mercy on Me" is so fitting for the times we are in. With so many out of work, panhandling has become very popular around my way. Still, one can dream and look forward to a brighter day despite their situation. Reneedion sings in somewhat of a haunting tone which melds gospel and the blues of years past into the song. Brilliant combination from such a young talent. Her EP, The Rhapsody in is still available. Make sure to cop yours here or here

WSLE Soundscape Radio - Episode 18

Kind of a short episode, but loaded with some dope gems. I start out in the UK with female producer Subeena then bring it back to the states with some cuts from a few of my favorite releases. Big ups to Alexis Williams for putting me on to the ill sounds of ReneeDion. I journey back with a few bangers from my younger years in hip hop, then it's a rap closing out the cast on a mellow note. Enjoy

Homebase NYC - Sleep ft Coco (Video Teaser)

This is only a teaser, but a great one of what's to come next Wednesday, 2-9-11 courtesy of Homebase. Featuring the divine vocals of Coco from Danish group, Quadron, "Sleep" follows the soulful downtempo groove of Amel Larrieux, which I love, yet it still captures its own vibe and authenticity. I'm going on record to say, this will be amongst my top ten for the year. "Sleep" drops Monday here.

Mickey Factz - The Dark Phoenix #ALPHA

For those who don't know anything about the emcee name Mickey Factz, just prepare yourself for an experience like none other. He is the ideal vision for hip hops future, and one who continues to paint vivid, yet at times complex thoughts on wax. My introduction to Factz came via Back To The Future - Flashback Vol.1 sometime in 2007. I can't say I was impressed upon first listen. Maybe it was because I was working out while listening and not really focused on the project. That led me to set it aside, and unfortunately never spun it again. Sorry Factz! As this introduction fortunately wouldn't be his end, Factz later dropped the solid, Heaven's Fallout. It took me a minute to peep the project (Black Milk's - Popular Demand pretty much took over my 2007), but somewhere in 2008 after hearing a set of leaks from him, I took back to my pc for Heaven's Fallout and got to rockin'. Now in 2010, after a year long break, Factz returns with The Dark Phoenix #ALPHA. It's a push forward from the mind of a very personal emcee and continues to show Factz grinding his own path to a creative and limitless sound. Don't let this work go without a few proper listens. Factz is not on some b.s. Peep the content on both these tracks below, and get your free download via his site. Support hip hop NOT hip pop!

Ambassador Of Boogie Funk

Do you remember the funky sounds of Rick James, Slave & The Barkays? Well, the sound you once loved is back in full swing, and the man behind it all is Los Angeles native and Stones Throw recording artist, Dãm Funk. Known as the "Ambassador of Boogie Funk," Dãm's debut, Toeachizown is the perfect backdrop to a 70's or 80's throwback party. Don't get thrown by the pimped out look of the man; it's all about a celebration and good music provided by a rising producer. Get it here, here or on itunes. Props to Moovmnt for the track.
