Paul White - Trust ft. Guilty Simpson

With so much dope music releasing , it's almost to the point I have to give up a couple of meals to support everyone I'm diggin'. I'm already losing weight from stress; can't afford to give up another pound due to the music I love. The new Paul White album, Rapping With Paul White just dropped over the weekend, and it's a very interesting listen. The London based producer definitely has a sound that's unlike others. There are obvious Dilla influences when it comes to that spacey vibe, but Paul keeps his beats and overall production unique with no aim to replicate. Featuring vocals from Detroit emcees, Guilty Simpson, Marv Won and  Danny Boy in addition to Homeboy Sandman and a few others, Rapping With Paul White will capture the ears of the more eclectic listener.  Check out below one of the gems Paul has so graciously offered up for free.

Rhian Benson - Be

It's been 8 years since Rhian Benson dropped her debut Gold Coast. Leading the album was the infectious groove, "Say How I Feel" that was adored by many of fans of the then "neo-soul" movement. Well, fresh for 2011, the Ghanain born beauty is back and loaded with a whole new sound. Rhian has teamed up with  Denmark production duo Jonas Rendbo and Daniel Fridell to give the electronic vibe to the new album Hands Clean. Her soulful roots are still very much present so don't be swayed. Peep the single "Be" ft Jonas below, make sure to get your free download of "Better Without You" Young RJ rmx and support Hands Clean when it drops on February 14th (Valentine's Day).

Ivan Ice & Emay - Sounds Like

Emay shot me an email a few weeks back introducing himself and his upcoming project Sounds Like. I'd been very busy, so I'm really behind, but I gave it a listen just last week and for the most part was impressed with it. Part producer, part mc, Emay's flow is confident and a perfect fit for the cosmic layered boom bap production of Ivan Ice. Sometimes Emay comes across a bit complex and scientific in his subject matter, but overall his rhyme style is very straight forward making him easy to follow. Emay takes his craft seriously showing clear signs of his appreciation for the art of emceeing while Ivan recreates and pushes the sounds of the golden era throughout the project. Real hip-hop heads will respect this one! Check out the single entitled Ze Drums, which was produced by dutch producer Ivan Ice and co-produced by Emay, then peep my favorite Used to Sound Like. Support the free download of the EP here, and be on watch for more dope sounds from these two.

J*Davey - Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistapes

I waited up 'til 3 am Christmas morning, but Miss Jack Davey and Brook D'Leau b.k.a J*Davey, I guess were making us wait for the niceness that is Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistapes. I got a chance to listen to it before heading off to Orlando for the weekend, and it's a pretty short, but solid piece of work. This is the first of a 3 part series, so enjoy it, and thanks to J*Davey for granting us this project. And if you're new to the group, after checking this project, support last years The Beauty In Distortion/The Land of The Lost. Download Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistapes here.

Full Crate & Mar - Conversations With Her

I can't remember exactly when I heard Full Crate's "She Was Fly" ft. Mar, but ever since that time, I'd been feigning for more music from them. With Mar's easy flowing vocals atop Full Crate's seamless blend of soul, house and hip hop, I get in the mood to just lounge on the couch in my robe and chill. Just yesterday, I was fortunate to have been on twitter when Full Crate tweeted "Flirtwitu" ft. Versis, and upon playing it, I shook my head. Another banger! Conversations With Her EP drops 1-15-10. I can't wait! Peep samples from the project on Amazon. "Surreal Moments" sounds like it's gonna be my track. Props to Moovmnt.

The Natural Self Design

The U.K strikes again with more innovative and straight up dope music. Producer, Keno-1 a.k.a Nathaniel Pearn is the force behind the evolving design know as Natural Self. Keno, grew up in Oxford, England, and as a teen, he was heavily inspired by the production of The Bomb Squad (Public Enemy). Captivated by the sound, he devoted himself to explore the roots of 60's & 70's American funk. DJing since 94', the culture of crate diggin' (vinyl shopping) broadened his musical taste and shaped his future to become the producer his is today. His production is a sonic blast of rugged break beats, percussive grooves, sensational live instrumentation and a few added symphonious vocals by the likes of Elodie Rama & Andreya Triana. The Art of Vibration (2008) and My Heart Beats Like A Drum (2009) show Keno's ability to circumvent one style and bring a new flavor to his kaleidoscope of music. Get both albums here or on itunes.
